Sadly we weren’t out there racing, but the next best thing - our fenders were at Airlie Beach Race Week having a great time! It was so great to see footage of Vixen Racing and Ocean Crusader rafting up, using our fenders.
July was a busy time for our fenders and covers going up to Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island for the regattas. Congratulations to all our customers who were out there racing. It sure looks like a great time!
Summer brought a number of superyachts to New Zealand waters, keeping the marine industry - including us - busy. We have recently produced custom fenders for several visiting vessels, featuring soft webbing rings in place of traditional stainless D-rings. These are the choice for many boat captains, as they help to avoid any marks or damage to hulls and decks when fenders are being moved around.
To complete the package, we also supplied custom neoprene fender covers to fit - the best protection for paint jobs and a premium finish.
With many of the larger vessels now departing for the Pacific, we are looking at adding these custom fender options to our wider range. Watch this space!
2026 has kicked off with a huge surge in dock fender orders — and we’re loving it!
More and more boat owners are choosing our Barrier Fender range as their go-to protection in the berth, and we’re proud to be making every one of them right here in New Zealand. We understand that every berth and boat is different, so our custom made fenders have really been a hit so far this year.
A big thank you to everyone supporting our family-run business — we really appreciate it.
As we get ready to roll into another Christmas holiday, we’d like to thank all our wonderful customers for choosing to shop with us this year. We love what we do and truly believe in our products, so having so many people from all over the world choose to use us means so much.
December is always a busy time, so we will be open until Tuesday 23 December – enough time for those who need last minute fenders for their summer holidays. Our first day of business for 2026 will be Monday 19 January.
Here’s to a summer of sun, sea and good times, wishing you all Merry Christmas and a happy new year, Damon and Jacqui
With the number of orders going overseas growing by the month, we have taken the jump and have partnered with 3PL warehouses in Australia and the USA to distribute our main products. Our Australian 3PL warehouse is centrally located in Syndey, which means shipping times should remain speedy for our Australian friends. The biggest gains will be felt by our American customers. Having our fenders and covers already in the USA will eliminate any tariffs/taxes/duties, which in the current climate, are not insignificant.
We are always looking at ways to get our products to our customers in a more timely and cost-effective way, and we think we’ve nailed it with this! So if you are in the USA, shopping for our fenders just got a whole lot cheaper!
Winter can still be a great time for boating, but with the rain that has been hitting New Zealand lately, the docks can get a bit slippery. Have no fear, we have the solution for you! Our Anti Slip Plates are perfect for installing over the top of wooden walers and fenders in marinas, providing a non-slip surface for boarding/disembarking your boat.
Made right here in New Zealand from 3mm fibreglass plate, they are slip-resistant, durable and low maintenance. The perfect way to avoid any embarrassing slips, and a great way to make your boating adventures that little bit safer.
We love a good round of R&D and this one has been a labour of love! After over a year of trialling several different fabrics and finishes and some extensive testing, we are thrilled to bring you our new covers – a beautiful black knitted polyester – tough and durable on the outside, sleek and easy to put on. And with the added benefit that you might even be able to use these on fenders that aren’t made by us (but really, who doesn’t have Hauraki Inflatables??). After an insatiable demand for black covers, but with a preference for something other than neoprene, we know these will be incredibly popular.
March is the perfect time for a boat show on the water, so we enjoyed taking a day to meet customers and check out the offerings at the Auckland Boat Show at the Auckland Viaduct. We are always busy the week of the show getting our inflatables, dock fenders and lines to customers so they can safely dock their vessels at their stands. Whether it’s boat builders or boat brokers, product salespeople or marinas, nothing beats meeting people face to face and seeing how they use our products and what new things they think would be useful for an ever changing world. And we always get a little smile when we see our fenders and products on display!
It’s that time of year again! December is always one of our busiest months, getting everyone’s boats ready for Christmas cruising and setting up berths for new boat owners. It’s a fun time of year, albeit a little stressful at times, but it’s very rewarding. Thank you to all our customers for another great year – we’ve kitted out berths and boats across New Zealand and the rest of the world. Now it’s time to sign off for a few weeks and enjoy some family time. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all, Damon and Jacqui
After a winter of R&D, our Barrier Heavy Duty Dock Wheel is here! We have spent a lot of time to make sure we have everything right – an extra strong, galvanised bracket and bearing hub assembly, a 490mm diameter wheel on a galvanised rim with an inner tube (for better pressure control and longevity) and a smart, white PVC cover. Most importantly, it's made right here in New Zealand.
So if you have a big boat and need a decent wheel to help guide you into your berth, we have the answer. Check them out at www.haurakifenders.co.nz/collections/dock-wheels/
And as with all of our products, if you are in Auckland, we can supply and install. Check them out, we think they are wheely awesome! Only available in New Zealand.
We’re always on the lookout for products that complement our range and these shock absorbers are here to help reduce shock load on cleats and provide stable mooring where boats may experience wave motion or be in more exposed parts of marinas. Shock absorbers are best used on shorter lines, such as stern lines for boats that go stern into their berth. Available in different sizes to suit boats up to 30T, enabling you to get the right size absorber for your size of boat. Only available in New Zealand.
